2016 CEE SWAT User Seminar
Following last year’s example, also this year the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in collaboration with Texas A&M University organize the 2016 CEE SWAT User Seminar. On Friday 3 June 2016 the WULS-SGGW Water Centre will host a one-day event that is addressed mainly to this and previous years workshop participants as well as to other SWAT (and other watershed model) users, particularly (but not only!) from Central and Eastern Europe. It is a good opportunity for PhD and masters students to share their modeling results with other colleagues. The seminar is also an extension of the SWAT workshop held on the four preceding days.
The goal of the seminar is to integrate SWAT community in CEE region and establish a platform for sharing the results (both successes and issues/challenges) between participants. It is expected that more advanced users will submit the abstracts and present talks on their model applications/developments during the seminar, whereas beginner users or anyone interested in the topic will register as participants. We do not specify any particular topics. Instead we invite all SWAT-related contributions, which will be grouped into different topics/sessions once all abstracts are submitted.
In principle, only oral presentations are planned at this stage, however this may change if the number of submissions exceeds the capacity of a 1-day event. The language of the seminar will be English.
One of the great advantages of the seminar will be the presence of Prof. R. Srinivasan from TAMU, the Visiting Professor at WULS-SGGW and CEE SWAT Workshops instructor. Prof. Srinivasan will offer his expertise to comment on presented model applications. He will also give an invited lecture at the beginning of the seminar.
There is no registration fee for this seminar. It will be co-funded by the CHASE-PL project: Climate Change Impact Assessment for Selected Sectors in Poland (http://www.isrl.poznan.pl/chase/).
The preliminary Agenda can be found here.
Abstract submission is closed but registration for participants is still open until 27 May 2016. Registration form can be downloaded here.
